John was pacing, the guards were certain he would wear a groove in the floor by the time he passed away. It only made sense to them since the prisoner had something like 6 life sentences, too bad he had a good lawyer, otherwise he would have gotten the chair. John on the other hand was watching the guards as he continued pacing like a predator. He would be out of there soon, even if he had to dig his way out with his bare hands. As he approached the wall again he punched it, splitting his knuckles open easily also leaving a small crack in the brick. With an angry grunt he sat on the edge of his bed, glaring at the floor.

If Sylvan ever took a thousand steps back now would be the time. Was it going to be a habit of his to explain only parts of his plans in partial detail? Summoning? Sylvan managed to unexplain himself in a couple of lengthy sentences. He sure liked to talk.
"Y-yesss absssolutely."
Maybe it was best to see for himself what happened, apparently he didn't have much work to do until tomorrow.

School went by as usual, he almost wished it was a bit more engaging so he could stay awake during class. Actually, things were fine the way they were, it was just a boring day, at school at least. Right now he was taking a shortcut downtown to get to his karate class at a -brisk- pace. It wasn't a great area and he had places to be.

Sylvan had no idea that his explanation wasn't making any sense. He was trying to answer him too quickly to really understand how much he had left out. Avalon, had she been paying attention, was more likely to have caught it. But, she was to eager to be off, and he was trying to simplify things a bit too much...and so they left Vesdel in a state of confusion.
But the two of them ducked out, Sylvan pulling a mask over his face with one last grin at his partner. They flickered back into view outside the prison. The outer wall was stone, and Sylvan pressed his palm to it while Avalon looked on, eager for the destruction to begin. A moment later, he withdrew his hand... and the entire outer wall cracked and crumbled. It shook the ground and raised a cloud of dust, and behind his mask, Sylvan was smiling. Now time to see who came to the rescue.

Dom saw a giant xcplodion. When he saw it he figured 1) there qouls be a lot of civivliN CVQSUALITIS AND HE SHOULDT HEL[P. 2) he should help
There S NO SECOND DOUBT IN HIS MIOND THAT HE SHOULD ASSIST IN THE TRAGEDY. Withoutba second thoguht he ran into the middl of the debris, withoputba hjy regard to his safety, looking for pople he could help/ This must have been a mistake, and mistaks happen, it was a yproduct of human error, butb as a good and proper cvivilian he vopuld hekp to the vest of hi abiolity.

Alarms went off. Guards swarmed. The prisoners, in the more central building, were still very much locked up, but he would get to that. Avalon was taking out guards with a feverish short of glee, her cackling still very audible under her white mask. Sylvan's covered from his nose down over his mouth, black with stainless steel spikes on it. While she dealt with the guards, he was planning more destruction. He pulled one of the towers down, a small smile on his lips as he did, mainly because he heard the screams of the one or two fellows inside.
Sylvan hadn't been expecting much human interference. People scared easy, and it wasn't likely for them to want to get involved when magic was so openly being used. Then, someone appeared out of the settling smoke. A civilian. A young man, actually, probably around Avalon's age. Sylvan's head tilted, and while Avalon was off wreaking havoc, he did not yet move. This was interesting. Who was this boy?

Broad daylight in the middle of the city, it was a miracle that there wasn't more people near the site of the explosion. Then again, those who were had the sense to evacuate the site of the explosion. But through the smoke and dust one of the youth, towering and built like a shit brick house stood in the debris.
He just didn't know what he was going to do from here. Obviously the police and ambulance had to be on the way, until then..
"H-hello?" He called out to anyone who might be there.

Sylvan, mildly distracted by one of the guards Avalon had let get away, found his gaze pulled from the young man to deal with the problem. It was easily enough dealt with, as he ran right near Sylvan. Sylvan had no problem tripping him, grabbing the man's wrist and wrenching it around behind his back, forcing him onto the ground. There was a crack, probably the man's arm, and he screamed. Sylvan wasn't even looking at the man he had restrained, though, not after he kicked the man's weapon away. He was looking at the one still standing, looking around in confusion and concern, calling out to see if anyone needed help. But, as he only asked one question, Sylvan only had one answer.
"Hello. Can I help you?" He asked, almost as though he wasn't making a guard writhe and scream as he restrained him. He was loud enough for the young man to hear him, but didn't raise his voice more than that.

For a minute Dom was completely dumbfounded. In trying to make sure there weren't any injured civilians in the explosion he unwittingly placed himself into a situation where he had to put his martial arts into practice. Usually he would avoid combat scenarios, it was poorly conceived ill planned and dangerous, but there was no point in going to see if people were okay without actually assisting them, and he couldn't live with himself if he ever just left someone there. Wouldn't make him much of an officer would it?
Dom was generously built, easily somewhere in the six foot or higher ranger and covered in a thick sheet of muscle. "Please let the man go!" He'd try reasoning with the man first of course, but he was still slowly and warily approaching him. Hopefully the cops got here soon.

Sylvan was rather pleased. He had no idea who Dom was, of course, but it was nice to see this fine young man trying to help innocents... But it wasn't going to work, unfortunately. After all, Sylvan couldn't deal with both the screaming man and the advancing hero... so he broke the man's neck and let his body fall to the ground. Much better. Now he only had one problem to worry about. "Sorry, what were you saying? I was having trouble hearing you." He asked, the smile in his voice clearly audible, mask or no.

His well endowed physique, martial arts training and just cause became obsolete and melted away to reveal a startled, devastated and terrified interior. He lost momentum and halted in his tracks, quivering and staring with wide glassy eyes at the crumpled pile on the floor like a deer frozen in the headlights.
"Y-y-you! YOU!?"
The man was dead. What now? Where did he go? What should he do? He didn't know.

Aw. The poor boy was obviously terrified. He had clearly never seen death before, at least, not like that. Sylvan felt almost honoured. But, the young man had asked him a question of sorts, and Sylvan thought it would only be polite to answer. "Me." He replied calmly. Avalon's tirade of giggling terror had cracked open the guard's safeholds and the prisoners block. Both scattered, almost none of them concerned about the varying degrees of innocence between them.
The young man had stopped moving closer, so Sylvan, leisurely, started walking closer to him instead. "You seem young. College? Somewhere in town? But you live with your family...hm..." Sylvan was smiling as he guessed, his head tilted, his blue eyes not seeming the least darkened by the fact that he had just killed someone with his bare hands. "Let's see... You take good care of yourself... Kineseology or health major...? Nah, then you wouldn't have come here all on your own, would you? Hm..." Soon he was just out of arms reach, his hands in the pocket of his jacket. "You could hit me if you like. I did just kill someone on front of you, didn't I?"

As Sylvan was advancing towards him, Dom was simultaneously backing away from him, trying to get as much distance between him and the approaching maniac, who was closing in on him and throwing random theories about his life in his face, and he wasn't too far off.
"N-no. No." This wasn't happening. Visibly now his body was shaking, trembling under the sheer force of the energy building up within him, he was too afraid to know how to spend it. His flight or fight instinct was being impeded by a moral dilemma. Should he stop this man. Eventually the pressure would build up until he could no longer contain it but it was up to Sylvan how his energy would be spent.

"No? You seem awfully distressed for me to be very wrong." Sylvan noted calmly. "Or is it that you don't want to hit me? I think you do." After all, the boy did seem like he could be the hero type. Morally upright enough that he was willing to put himself in a certain amount of danger...law abiding enough, though, that he wouldn't hit him first, or go to unnecessary lengths to be impressive. Sylvan was curious.
He was shaking, scared... Sylvan liked the way it looked. But it wasn't nearly enough to satisfy him. So, the boy wouldn't start the fight himself? That was okay. Sylvan would start it himself. Moving quickly, but not quick enough that the man would not be able to block or dodge if he was paying attention, he swept out his leg, aiming to knock him off his feet if he was too slow.

Sylvan wasn't disappointed. Dom's mass was too heavy for that to work and he hadn't stumbled out of the way. No matter. Sylvan grinned, mischief in his eyes as he jerked his foot forwards, back towards himself, pulling Dom's feet out from under his body. There was, as they said, more than one way to skin a cat, and Sylvan was pretty familiar at all forms of bloody violence.
