When John arrived Anthony was standing awkwardly in the kitchen, discreetly unsure of what to do with himself. He'd pass it off as sulking, but really he left in such a huff he forgot to ask about his living quarters, and had no idea where to go or what to do, or even where to put the gun he hadn't put down since the encounter, and since he wasn't raised by wolves like SOMEONE he knew, guns didn't belong in the kitchen. Ever. Especially not on the table, the table was for food. That was basic hygiene.
"Was that before or after you willingly traipsed along with that little putanna huh?" His smooth calm glassy surface was beginning to churn and buckle under the heat.

The command center was pitch black, but at Tristian's command, a faint humming could be heard as something in the dark lurched to life and illuminated the area around it with a faint glow. R.I.T.A was finally functioning again.
"Actually I'm sure you'll find that humans are the source of tragedy."
Like usual, Tristian was right about everything.

"After. You think I'm going to say 'no' to a magic b-... woman?" John said dully. "Or the one calling the shots who happens to have even more power? I'm not that much of an idiot." He said, looking back to his gun as he started cleaning it. "But yeah, I did take a shot at him. He was expecting it. Didn't gain me a whole lot of fuckin' ground, as you can see. Then he offered me money, a lot of it, and suddenly I wasn't so angry with him anymore or being such an asshole." John's voice was deadpan, bordering on annoyed.
"He gave me money and plenty of chances to kill people, so why do I care if he's an asshole? I don't know what he's paying everyone else but it's a good goddamn deal to me." John said.

It wasn't in Tristan's character to swear, but sometimes R.I.T.A. brought him pretty close. "I meant in this case, specifically, I do not think that normal humans and their actions are to blame." He clarified. "Bring it up on the screen, we can check to make sure. I don't want to do something drastic unless we really need to." He said.
Tristan was worried about the damage that might be done if the power in question was left unchecked, but if normal people could handle it, they had no right to intervene.

Normal humans. R.I.T.A almost scoffed at the idea since humans were more of an anomaly on the planet that didn't seem to contribute to it's well being like every other living organism, but withheld from making a comment and instead did as she was told, activating the viewing globe and viewing it unimpressed.
"You're right!" R.I.T.A pointed at nothing in particular on the globe and feigned surprise. "That is the most magical and suspicious property damage I've ever seen."

Tristan would have rolled his eyes if he thought Rita would have payed any attention. "Look closer. They would have left some sign. Magic always does." He insisted. "If there's no proof of human explosive mechanisms, no scorch marks or anything. Wait! There!" There was something on one of the half-fallen walls, and it looked like writing. It wasn't. Tristan recognized it quickly. "There! That's part of a spell circle. It has to be. It's not normal writing." How it got onto the inside of the prison was anyone's guess, but there it was. "That's what we're looking for. Signs of magic. And there might be more."

"After. Pfff." Anthony scoffed. Juvenile and petty business conduct. He prayed to God he didn't have to work with him too often, if Sylvan's payment had been anything less he wouldn't have agreed to this. He decided if there was any costly misdeeds he would let Sylvan take care of him,he didn't want to have to deal with it. One thing he couldn't deal with though...
"Tables are for prepping food, please get your gun off the table."

Sylvan wasn't anywhere near them, so he wasn't concerned with their bickering. He was sitting next to Avalon, eyes closed as the young woman leaned on his shoulder. His headache was fading to a solid dull throb, manageable but still painful. He was thinking. Trying not to, of course, but that was one thing he was never really good at.
And then it occurred to him. It came all in a rush, a sudden realization. Two sets of brown eyes. But they were the same brown eyes. He sat up in a rush, then jumped to his feet, shaking the dark spots from his eyes.
"Master!" Alarmed, Avalon was at his side in a heartbeat, but he brushed her off. "Nothing to fear, sweet, I just have something to take care off..." He kissed her cheek and then hurried down the hall after Anthony. He stumbled until he hit the corner, and then his stride smoothed out.
He found them in the kitchen, his eyes wider than normal thanks to the headache, but looking otherwise steady enough. "John, he has a point. At the very least make sure you clean up after yourself." he said. John, for now, didn't reply. Sylvan didn't wait for him.
"Anthony, I'm sorry to interrupt but I need to speak with you. Could you follow me a moment?" He said, sounding uncharacteristically hurried.

R.I.T.A would have Tristian pulling out his hair by the end of this discussion. It wasn't her goal, but being designed to be scientifically accurate was part of her programming.Creatures like humans that seemed to hold such a disdain for knowledge would call her annoying habit of always being right and correcting annoying as fuck. But you know what else was less than convenient?
global warming pollution murder war
Their opinions were invalid, she just had to let Tristian know,
"Ritualistic devil worship is a common symptom of schizophrenia which affects about 57% of the prison inmates in Angel Grove City alone."

Tristan didn't scoff, by now he was pretty used to dealing with her (it's) way of being. He just had t explain himself more. Eventually he'd learn to do that ahead of time. "I think I know the difference between schizophrenic delusion markings and actual legitimate magic. The idea that someone would have stumbled onto such a complex language of symbols due to a mental illness is a little ridiculous." Tristan explained patiently.
"It's not even as though they would have seen in in a book as an infant and recalled it during a moment of hallucination. No human would have access to it, or at least, none that should be in or on this world." She could be tedious at times, but she was designed to be thorough and she always was.

Perfect, he was super thankful that Sylvan gave him a reason to remove himself from John, and in a juvenile childish sense Sylvan's remark about cleanliness in a round about way made Anthony right, which meant he had won the sort of half argument. It was petty and egotistical, but after the kind of day he was having he needed a victory.
He followed his boss into the hallway and into a separate room, not without bringing his gun of course.
"Coming."

Sylvan managed not to trip as he sidestepped into the hall, shaking his head a little and trying to think coherently. Normally it wasn't this hard. Blast this headache of his. "If I see any oil on that table when he's done..." Sylvan sighed and shook his head again as they stepped into another room. It was plain, mostly unfurnished. A spare room waiting for a use. "Now, today has been a rather eventful day, to say the least. I think everyone has been through quite a bit, including myself." he added with a bit of a wry smile. "Not that I didn't deserve it. But, I think, in my hurry to gather my resources together, I may have wronged you..."
His eyes, still a little wide from his head injury, were no less aware or sharp when he looked at Anthony. "The boy. The one who tried to stop me. He looked like one of yours." He said simply.

If R.I.T.A had eyes she would have rolled them. Maybe she needed to be a bit more specific as well. "Magic circles and symbols are also common in Wiccan and Pagan religions as well, which also coincides directly with schizophrenic delusions as religion often does...for some reason."
R.I.T.A almost conceded and let Tristian have his way, but she hardly ever admitted when she was incorrect or ill informed, and if she didn't know and if Tristian didn't know it wasn't evidence enough to summon the Power Rangers, but she'd compromise. This time.
"I'll run full surveillance on Angel Grove and will tag any unusual occurrences or energy sources until we've collected sufficient data. Until then you're going to have to wait."

Anthony wasn't the one being wronged, he shouldn't be the one receiving the apology. Sylvan admitting his wrong doing wasn't going to soften him up. Some bosses used the casual approach to create better relations with their employees, but there was no fixing it, but he wouldn't let Sylvan know it. If he could he would deny even having children and play stupid, if it weren't for the fact that they were already being used as "payment" to blackmail him into working for him.
"What boy?"
So he'd play stupid another way, and pretend to be ignorant. Sylvan would make it up to him later, but not with an apology.

Sylvan was a little surprised that Anthony didn't know. It had happened near where his cell had been, but then again knowing Anthony, once the breakout happened the man had probably vanished into oblivion with the hope of ever being found again, Not that it had paid off.
"During the breakout someone stepped up to stop me. I don't look like much of a threat so he probably should have succeeded. But while that was remarkable, what caused me to approach you is how similar he looked to you. I know you had a son around his age..." Sylvan shrugged.
