Cy was supposed to meet viva in town, and boy was he late. He ran through the streets narrowly avoiding people. if he was paying attention he'd have realised that he no longer had ground to run on. A moment later Cy finally noticed his feet weren't touching anything and looked down. "bad idea..." with a sigh he began to fall, he didn't make a sound as he plummeted towards the earth at least a mile below him. "there is no way Imma survive this, sorry Viva." he smirks and lights what is most likely to be his last blunt. a few moments later he lands with a thick boom and a bit of a crunch, he lay limp on top of something, he didn't care what. "how did I survive...?"

"Good question." Aralia looked at the fellow in front of her from behind her darkened lenses. Just exactly where the ever-loving-fuck did he fall from?! She had no idea, and quite frankly, didn't have time to wonder over it. Now that he had so kindly busted her cage open, she pulled herself from the wreckage and over to the pile of what looked like debris next to it. After a moment of hurried digging, she retrieved her weapons, and slung both about her waist again before drawing them from their sheathes. "Being as you mostly look human, I don't think you're gonna want to stay here, kid." She said. The noise of her cage busting open was likely to draw trouble, and she was already looking for the fastest way out of camp.

"the hell? why?" he looks around almost vacantly, his blunt having somehow survived the intense wind of the fall. Suddenly he spots why. "Gah! it's ugly, kill it!" with that he drew his pistols and started taking potshots at one of the first echoe to enter his view. As he continued firing he began backing away rather quickly for not paying attention. "you got a name? I'm Cy, looks like we might be in for a fight." he finally hit one of the echoe who seemed unaffected at first then slowly began to heat up, eventually melting. "such a big target and it took me that many shots..." his voice carried a tone of self disappointment

"Maybe if you actually aimed you'd fare a little better." Aralia replied, but she was grinning, the adrenaline already working it's magic. In a smooth motion she raised one of her weapons defensively, the other she used to shoot one of the creatures twice between the eyes. One shot could sometimes do the trick, but when dealing with Echoe, it was always better safe than sorry. Without pause, she turned her aim to another, then another. "I'm Aralia, and I'm glad you're armed." Her laugh was short, but not entirely mirthless. "Going down that way is probably the easiest. It's the fastest way out of the camp, and it'll be easier to pick 'em off from there." She nodded in the direction she spoke of, assuming that he was listening to her.

Cy simply nodded, motioning for her to go ahead, he would lay cover fire, his aim getting better and better with every puff of the purple haze. even as the smoke fluttered in front of his eyes his shots became more and more direct. His reload times were quick, fast enough that he was almost constantly firing his antique weapons. soon he fell in behind arly. "so why don't these things like humans? just curious as to why I'm killing them." he smirks and brings down another that seemed to lose all moisture from within it's body. "and whats a pretty chicky like you doin with these guys?" he smirks and turns to face the echoe once more, bringing two down, one turning to stone the other getting it's face melted off.

"Well, you're killin' them, at the moment, because otherwise they'd kill you. Suffice?" Aralia took his cue and started down the narrow path, noting with some amusement that yes, his aim was indeed improving. Leaving that direction to him, she set her sights on clearing the way forwards, picking off Echoe as they came in to view. So far she was lucky enough to keep them out of close combat range, and hopefully that luck would continue. "As for your other question, kid, does it really look like I wanted to be there?" Aralia replied, grinning, though he would not likely be able to see it. "They're not exactly very good hosts, y'know."

"never said they were, just asked what you were doing here." he smirks and holsters his right handed gun, pulls out another blunt and lights it with his thumb, or at least a small flame coming off his thumb. "tough little buggers eh?" he smirks and begins puffing away. His right hand scooped up his pistol and began firing once more

Aralia listened rather intently to his question, but was unable to come up with a satisfactory answer. How exactly was she supposed to explain the craziness that the Echoe got up to? This guy, Cy, clearly had no idea what he was dealing with, and that struck her as a little odd. She couldn't think of anywhere off the top of her head that wasn't plagued with them. Still, some sort of in-depth discussion was going to have to wait; here was certainly no place for it. "Yeah, they can be a bit of a bitch to put down, but you seem to be gettin' the hang of it." She said, grinning.

Cy just smirks. "thats cuz of this." he flicks away the ash on the end of his joint and slips it back between his lips. he continues firing. These creatures were strange to Cy, with their grotesque pallid bodies. "I dunno about you but I'm gettin tired of this." without another words Cy fires both guns, his bullets meeting in mid air and causing a surprisingly large explosion of rock and fire, Cy simply turns, grabs Aralia's arm and books it in the opposite direction, he could feel the heat from the blast on his back, he threw Aralia in front of him with some effort so she wouldn't get burned.

Aralia skidded to a stop and spun around quickly, ready to shoot Cy in the foot for flinging her like that (remarks on her size aside, it was not a pleasant sensation to not be in control of your own momentum). Instead, she switched her aim with a flick of her wrist and used her frustration to put down one last stubborn echoe. Cy's shot, whatever it was, had left a path of still smoldering destruction in it's wake, and that was the only survivor she saw. Still, there would be more if they waited long enough. "Do that again and you'll be missing your kneecaps. Also thank you. Let's get the fuck out, yeah?" Outside of the encampment was deep, thick brush they could easily travel in without being seen, provided they were careful.

"we'll see" Cy spoke confidently but nodded to arly, he didn't feel like sticking around. He followed her into the brush, speeding through almost as well as she did. "do this often, you seem practiced." it was more of a statement than anything. How he longed to have something bigger than his pistols, maybe he could find and bond with a shotgun or something here.

Aralia shrugged, picking her way through the growth quickly and with little trouble. "You adapt to your surroundings, right? Besides, you're not half bad yourself." She remarked. The faster they could clear the area, the better things would be. She didn't exactly have her usual gear with her, but Arly was sure they could make do. They'd just have to be resourceful.
"So, since we're no longer in imminent danger, mind telling me what the fuck happened?" She looked back over her shoulder to him, grinning under her dark lenses.

"no clue all this sciency, interplanetary dimension jumping stuff is Viva's thing not mine." Cy shrugs and looks behind him, noticing the last of the echoe fading out of site. "mind telling me just whats going on around here? I've never seen those ugly things." Cy's brow furrowed as he tried to figure out what they were on his own, while also waiting for this arly girl's response.

"What's a Viva?" Aralia asked jokingly, tucking her weapons away. It was pretty clear from his wording that Viva was a 'who' and not a 'what', but it was just her way on remarking that they had an unusual name, from her perspective.
"And if you've never seen those things, this really is an 'interplanetary, dimension-y' problem, as they're everywhere here." She scowled. "Be glad you haven't had to deal with them. They're kinda a bitch, as I'm sure you've noticed. Been trying to take this place over for around twenty years now. We haven't let them yet, and we're not about to."

"A viva is... my partner I guess, She and I work together, we live together, and we kinda grew up helping each other... ok fine she was helping me." Cy goes quiet for a minute, wondering how pissed Viva was getting with each passing minute he was late. it almost scared him. "Viva's good people..." Cy goes quiet again Listening to Aralia's explanation of the strange creature's existence. "20 years huh? I dunno Kinda sounds like fun to me." Cy smirks and holster's his pistols before shoving his hands in his pockets. "well now you got a bit of help until I'm yanked out of here, fair?" Cy offer's Aralia his hand in friendship.
